ACRYLIC PAINTING WORKSHOPS

Having moved in 2021 from Wiltshire to South Oxfordshire, I now hold acrylic painting workshops near Henley-on-Thames as well as continuing to tutor in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

I have been tutoring acrylic and mixed media workshops for many years and for all levels of ability. This has included workshops for art societies and small private groups, The White Horse Bookshop & Gallery in Marlborough, Brewery Arts Cirencester, and tutoring courses in North Devon and at Marlborough Summer School.

I enjoy introducing beginners to the versatile medium of acrylic paint, and offering more experienced painters the opportunity to develop their artwork practice, always in an encouraging and inspiring environment. Painting and talking about art in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere is a wonderful experience, and devoting time to concentrate on painting in the company of like-minded individuals is immensely enjoyable and invaluable in creating work. During the workshops we look at and discuss paintings created by myself and other artists; this in itself is an inspiring exercise and helps everyone to get into the ‘zone’ before they start creating something in their own unique way. I always begin the sessions by explaining my own method of working and the techniques and mind-set I apply when painting. My workshops range from the very basics of working with acrylics for beginners to more advanced tuition which includes painting loosely, intuitively, towards semi-abstraction and pure abstraction.
